What makes the DT 900 PRO X truly unique is how easy it is to repair and access internal parts that may need replacing down the road. If you’re looking for a set of cans to stick by the computer, you’ll have to look long and hard for a better deal than this. Separation of instruments isn’t as prevalent, but overall, their detail is the most revealing out of all three in the upper mids and treble. One brand I did not have to get to know is Sennheiser, especially since I have personally bought many of their headphones over the years. To my ears, they sound the most different out of all of them, meaning I can tell the 600 and 6xx are from the same series, with the 660s being the odd man out.

Maybe they might’ve liked empire ears zeus, so afterwards all of their tunings will be different kinds of midrange holes. Top-class resolution with some of the widest (some say the widest) soundstage in a headphone are the prime reasons why the HD800 series still remain relevant more than 10 years since their release in 2009. In most cases, the aim is to revise or reissue an existing product, make it more cost efficient and thus make it accessible to a wider audience. But to its credit, the KSC75 manages to outpace many headphones so this isn’t a dig at its performance by any means.The HD6XX has more realism and balance, however the fit and soundstage are nowhere near good enough IME. HD6XX is no different in this regard and I found myself using the HD6XX more and more for my production work than others. If you’ve never tried an open-back pair of headphones before, the Massdrop x Sennheiser HD 6XX are going to blow your mind.

It has good upper treble extension till 20kHz with one prominent audible peak presenting itself at around 15kHz but it isn’t the most sizzly, revealing or airy upper treble.
